Mitchell's Elm House is set in about 9 acres of ground. The largest field, "Plumtree Close", is 2.5 acres. We use this for hay and to graze the sheep. The other land, "Bailey's Piece", has been divided into a variety of plots: an avenue of small leaf lime trees, an ash grove, an oak spinney, three pony paddocks and four sheep paddocks.
----- Plumtree Close and Bailey's Piece are the old field names, but we don't usually use them. -----
If you are interested in becoming a smallholder, but are not quite sure, you might like to visit us and get some first hand experience. Perhaps you would like a working holiday? Thinking of buying a smallholding?
Perhaps you would like to know more about Hebridean Sheep? Low maintenance sheep!
